Initial training applicable to the responsibilities of CBRF caregivers designed to meet the requirements of administrative rule HFS 83 for CBRF’s in the area of medication administration and documentation. The learner will be taught general categories of medications, effects and side effects, documentation, proper administration, legal issues of controlled substances and the proper procedure for handling medication errors. Successful completion of this course meets the requirements of administrative rule DHS 83 for CBRF in the area of Medication Administration and documentation. Tuition includes the state registry fee.

Coursework will include the following training modules: DHS 83.20 (2) (b) CBRF Fire Safety, DHS 83.20 (2) (d) CBRF Medication Administration and Management, DHS 83.20 (2) (a) CBRF Standard Precautions, DHS 83.20 (2) (c) CBRF First Aid and Choking, DHS 83.21 (1) CBRF Resident’s Rights, and DHS 83.21 (3) CBRF Challenging Behaviors.
